What Construct means
Construct is where a design stops being a document. It is the work of putting the appropriate strategy, systems, and structure into actual practice inside the business - operating, not proposed.
Implementation is one of the standards Reach works to.
What happens during Construct
- Translating the design from Architect into the order in which work will be done.
- Putting the strategy, systems, processes, and operational structure the direction calls for into place.
- Working with the people who will have to run what is being built.
- Adjusting where implementation meets something the design did not anticipate.
What Construct asks of you
Construction happens inside a business that still has to operate while it changes. This stage asks you and your team to participate in implementation rather than receive it, and it asks for the time that participation genuinely takes. Reach will not describe that as quick or effortless.
How much of Construct an engagement carries depends on its scope - Reach helps construct when the engagement calls for it. Whether what was built is working is a separate question, and it belongs to the final stage of the REACH Method.
