The REACH Method™
Reveal
Understand what is actually happening.
What Reveal means
The problem a leader can already name is not always the problem that most needs attention. Reveal is the work of establishing what is actually happening - across the business, not only at the point where the difficulty became visible.
Nothing is recommended at this stage. Its purpose is an accurate picture: what the business is doing, how it is currently structured and operating, and what has been assumed rather than examined. Every later stage of the REACH Method depends on that picture being honest.
What happens during Reveal
- Looking beyond the presenting symptom to the wider operating reality.
- Gathering the information and context needed to describe the current situation accurately.
- Asking direct questions, including the uncomfortable ones.
- Separating what is known and documented from what is assumed or remembered.
What Reveal asks of you
Readiness for this stage is willingness to look, not tidiness. Reach asks for relevant information and honest answers to difficult questions; it does not ask you to have organized the business first.
Disorganization is not lack of readiness. Resistance to examination may be.
